4- The thought of having the energy of a baby girl in our home this year
5- How beautiful my life became after I met Chantale in 99 and how it continues to be beautiful
6- How much our puppy brought to the family
7- Having reached a good understanding of what our current life means with my son James and daughter Melyssa and how they fit into it
8- Having Comicopia as an outlet for my creativity
9- That my parents are still alive
10- I’m actually quite grateful that LiveJournal exists, to be honest.

Pondering Life
Some thoughts I ran across today while doing some research. I felt they were worth noting:
Do De Duck
I have to say that one of my all-time favorite Sesame Street songs is “Do De Rubber Duck” which is a reggae-style song by Ernie (with much more of the cast joining in afterwards).
Since the Sesame Street CDs have been in rotation in my car lately, I’m quite often found with this song stuck in my head and, obviously, singing it to Kyle 🙂
Wednesday, as I was struggling to get him ready to leave in the morning, he finally stopped squirming when I reminded him that we would be listening to music. Suddenly, he was all ready to go and once he was strapped into his chair, he started “singing”. Listening to those jumbled words that sounded so familiar, I slowly realized he was singing Do De Duck! (pa-pa papapa…) Made me laugh out loud!
Of course, yesterday morning, as we got up later due to his 18-month checkup, he woke up on his own at 7am. As I lay in bed listening to him, I had to once again stop myself from laughing at the cuteness of his singing! “Pa pa papapa… pa pa papa… pa pa papa…” which is quite close to “Duck Rubber Duck, duck, rubber duck, rubber duck duck…”. After a good 5 minutes of this, he suddenly says “Rubba Duck!” before re-starting with the “pa pa papa…”
🙂 too cute for words, but still I try, because these are fond, warm, and beautiful memories 🙂

Sesame Road
In the continuing exposure of all things Beatles to my son, I decided to bring in “Sesame Road” which really is what it sounds like 🙂 The cover shows Elmo, Oscar, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird walking that same street we see on the cover of Abbey Road. Obviously, the lyrics are NOT the same as the Beatles tunes, but I know that getting used to the familiar music will make hearing the Beatles sound natural 🙂
for me, it does sometimes get a little bizarre to start humming “Let it Be” and end up with “Letter B” 🙂 But, I digress.
One song which came on today (understand that we listen to the CD for the full 10-15 minutes it takes me to drive him to his guardian in the mornings, thus only about 2 songs or so (depending on if Kyle will let me listen to the weather report 🙂 )) was “Hey Food” sung to “Hey Jude”. Sounds hysterical, right? Yes, you can imagine that it IS quite funny having Cookie Monster singing:
“Yum – yum – yum – yumyumyuuuumm – yum yum yuuum…. Heeeey Fooood…”
but I also must admit that what bothered me a little was the point of the song which was that when he’s feeling down he’ll eat some delicious food that will make him feel “Better Better BETTER YEAH!”
(okay, i just giggled at my typing that 🙂 ) But seriously. Isn’t that the wrong idea to teach kids? I see some “deprogramming” in my future…
