Funny Morning…

How funny is it to be sitting on the train, working on Comicopia to such a degree that I don’t really notice other commuters who get on or off. A little while later, I notice someone sat next to me, hunched over her artist case, working frantically on storyboards. I raise an eyebrow and smile. I’ve gotten so used to seeing friends and other professionals working on their craft that this doesn’t faze me. I catch the word “Andy” on the script and recognize it. I’m thinking to myself that I should ask a friend about it later and turn back to my own work.

As we get closer to the end of the line, I finally close the Apa and my notes and realize the woman is none other than . Sheesh. She finally spots me as she’s getting off the train and asks why I didn’t say anything! I have to laugh. Artist and Writer, so engrossed in what they’re doing they don’t notice anything else around them… except for the cute baby sitting on its mother’s lap between us, reading an oriental children’s book 🙂

In other news, you can catch my quote in today’s Gazette or on page 2 of the on-line article: Garneau Gets Dose of Earthly Reality 🙂

Interesting Morning

I met Marc Garneau at the Ile Perrot train station this morning as he was greeting commuters. I spoke with him briefly as a photographer flashed away and the whole meeting was recorded. I guess I do good catch lines 🙂 He came across as a very genial man and after a bit I wished him luck and walked onto the platform. Before the train arrived, another of the men in his posse approached me for a quick interview. He was following the campaign for The Montreal Gazette and asked some questions for tomorrow’s paper. We’ll see how my words were quoted if they decide to go with them 🙂

No, I’m not one to really discuss politics any more. Yes, when I was in my teens I volunteered and worked for one of the parties which included door-to-door campaigning and canvassing. Yes, the guy I worked for won every election I was involved with and I enjoyed myself at all the victory parties. Sometimes, though, I wondered if I would feel like Ritchie Cunningham in that Happy Days episode where he got involved in politics. But then again, seeing as we always won, I didn’t have to worry about losing any romance… 🙂

Yes, folks, politics, as with everything else in the world, is all about the power, money, fame, and babes… 🙂

Interesting…

You know that interview with Len Strazewski I’ve been talking about on this LJ for the last couple of weeks? I just found out that someone thought enough about it to include it in a Wikipedia link. Never would have seen this had I not been able of running Stats from my savageland domain 😉

Anyhow, the link is for the PRIME comic book from Malibu and my interview is there as an external link. You can check it out at the Wikipedia Site

You’ve gotta admit that it’s cool (and flattering) that an interview that’s quite a number of years old can still demand so much attention… 🙂

Undue Credit – Given!

I’m glad to report that the Urban Comic Myths JSA post from ComicsRGood blog has been properly credited!

I got an email from Brian Cronin very early this AM apologizing for the oversite and letting me know that everything has been fixed. Thus, if you go visit the site now, you’ll find it’s properly credited and an active link-back to Len’s interview included. Thanks Brian. Once again, here’s the link to the myth post in question:

Thoughts…

Happy New Year, sweetheart 🙂 I only did it because I know how important LJ and having a journal is to you. Now, you’ll be able to enjoy more of it 🙂

Q: How is it possible to hold your 5-month old baby son on your lap, gently stroke his hair, and have your eyes fill up with tears?

A: Because the amount of love that is sent into that little body is too powerful to explain, especially as one small, gummy, smile from him is enough to completely melt your heart as you realize just WHY you put up with all the bullshit and hardships of life and work… to see that amazing smile that is given for you alone…

God how I love my family. It is the one thing I am the most grateful for in this life…

A week already?

Tonight’s family activity consisted of playing Monopoloy 🙂 After watching Back to the Future 2 and 3 the last couple of nights, it was nice to finally have a game night. The kids enjoyed it and so did Chantale and I. Of course, as I tucked the little rugrats into bed, I realized that this marks their seventh night with us. It seemed like such a big number when I made the visitation plans a couple of months ago, but living through it, I realized, again, that it’s not such a large amount of time. Yes, they’ve been with us a LOT these last two months, but… aw shit man, it’s just not enough :_(

*deep breath*

ahem. Okay. Anyhow, tomorrow morning I’ll be bringing them to my folks so they can spend the day with them. It’s part of my “christmas cheer” to have them stay with my folks since my folks obviously want to see them more often than they do. They’ll be picked up after work tomorrow and will spend New Year’s with their mother. I’ll see them again when I go pick them up on January 6th or 7th. At least it’s not that far away.

At least I’m so busy at home with the redecorating and fixing/cleaning up that it’ll be a little “easier” to ignore the fact they’re not here… I’ll just pretend they’re playing at the neighbor’s… besides, I’m sure Kyle won’t mind the extra hugs and kisses from me, although I know he’ll miss them too as I’m sure he realizes it when they’re not around (same as Casey does!)

Just wanted to pop in and say “boo”. I have to go now and pull myself together again…

It’s xmas time…

nice relaxing party last night. It is comforting to be able to host 🙂 We got to bed at around 2:30am and although there were a few Kyle interruptions for feeding, I’ve been up with him since about 7am now 🙂 We both came downstairs in the basement where he enjoys seeing all the pretty colors on the screen, as well as watching my fingers fly across the keyboard 🙂

Lots of loot was had (heck, his first Xmas, how could he not get loot?) and more to come this afternoon as we all head over to my parents for supper. Can I still stuff more food in me? Actually, it’s been over 6 hours since I last ate, so… yes 🙂 Turkey was awesome 🙂

I hope everyone out there had themselves a really nice time as well. You all passed through my mind at various times and I wish you all the best!

Here’s a little blast from the past for you locals 🙂 Same wishes for 2006!

TSL Season Greetings
