Stir Crazy!

As the afternoon dragged on, I started finding myself going a little stir crazy! At the same time, I didn’t want to go anywhere. Just that feeling of “stuff needing to be done”. For example, grocery shopping! Not that I really need much. After all, my fridge is loaded. I’m just missing a few essentials 🙂

Speaking of food, I was chewed out by my mother-in-law tonight! She called claiming that I hadn’t been eating or sleeping and to snap out of it! See, they finally located my livejournal. And thus caught up on a few entries. And I’ve been warned that I’ll be in trouble for anything stupid I do here (which means admitting things like not eating or sleeping. Guess I’ll just stop posting about it… (giggle)). 😉

Of course, next thing you know, I’ll start getting chewed out for calling them my in-laws! (LOL!)

Ok, enough fooling around. Gotta give the kids their bath and then we’re gonna watch the little extras on the Monsters Inc DVD before putting them to bed. I haven’t decided what I’ll be doing after that. It’s a toss-up between settling in for some Austin Powers fun, watching CSI (which I’m taping), or just relaxing with a book and continue listening to the 80’s channel on Galaxy (which has been really good for the last hour already! 🙂 ). A Reboot marathon is on YTV right now but I’m waiting for the DVDs 🙂

More later! (where I’ll probably end up admitting to having continued with the cleaning/ clearing out of the office) 🙂

Going Bonkers

Need I even mention that I didn’t sleep much last night? I had to keep getting up every couple of hours to give Melyssa her Ventolin. Of course, this morning, they were empty. I needed new ones at any rate since she needed something stronger, but they worked in a pinch. Problem? She was up at 7am and I had no idea that all stores were opening at 10am. I ran from pharmacy to pharmacy looking for one that opened at 8 and then at 9. Blah. She’s medicated now and doing better. Have to keep pumping her with the new medication every 3 hours for today and then back to every 4 to 6 hours for the following 2 days.

You know. This was not the first holiday season that I spent in the hospital with her.

I’ll tell you something. Worrying about the kids and having to take care of them so much really does leave me too exhausted to feel bad about missing Chantale. Even though the kids ask about her all the time (right now, Melyssa’s playing a Travel kind of game where kids can learn about the world. She’s currently visiting Australia “where Tally is!” to which James immediately corrects, “she didn’t stay there, she went on to New Zealand!” (grin)

Okay, back to cleaning. Got tons of laundry to put away. And it’s almost been 24 hours since I put any food in my stomache. But that won’t last. I’m actually getting hungry 🙂

Well Screw That!

The last two entries I wrote never made it online! Bloody hell!! And there I was having revealed my inner feelings and emotions and it’s all gone! Bah. So, I’ll just give you updates:

I had a rotten day. Melyssa suffered another asthma attack I couldn’t get under control so I had to take her to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. In fact, I just now got back. I’m exhausted.

In better news, Chantale is safely in New Zealand. She called me just before 10pm to let me know that she’s in a hotel for tonight and then off to the hostel for the next 9. There are lots of ‘young people’ out there, many of which are travelling alone. She sounded in good health and good spirits although she was somewhat jet-lagged 🙂 The funny thing was that she called me just as I had finished sending her an email filling her in on my day and telling her how just writing all about it to her made me feel better 🙂 (see, at that point I was in somewhat of a panic because my parents weren’t home yet and I couldn’t get anyone to watch James while I headed off to the Hospital).

And now, I should get some sleep. Tomorrow (later today?) could possibly be another bad one. Time will tell.

Oh. And just so you all know. I’m feeling better. thanks. I knew the early days would be the worst, but I was a little surprised with how today turned out.

Oh yeah. I’m starving. Hadn’t had anything to eat since Brunch at noon. Oh look at that. It’s been over 13 hours since I last ingested anything. No wonder I’m feeling so spacey…

Panic Attack…

Had a really nice Brunch at the in-laws today. But for some reason, when I got back home this afternoon, I suddenly had a panic attack and couldn’t handle ANYTHING lying around the house! I went into super-cleanup mode and cleaned everything up. Even took down the tree and xmas decorations with James’ help. And during it all I was vacuuming, throwing stuff out, re-arranging stuff, etc. Just totally insane-like.

And now? I just made supper for the kids but nothing for me. I really don’t have an appetite right now. Even chocolate isn’t tempting. I feel like taking a long hot bath and then going to bed. I slept like hell last night and since Melyssa seems to have gotten a cold, I don’t believe I’ll be sleeping well tonight. An asthmatic child with a cold/cough is not fun. You’re always constantly worried that the cough is an asthmatic wheeze. *sigh*.

Blah.

Why Am I Awake?

It’s 4am. I should be sleeping. … Truthfully, I was. But Melyssa’s not feeling too good and started crying because her throat was hurting. I gave her some water and tried to calm her down a little and it sounds like she’s settled in now. So, I figured since I was up I would check on the flights.

Air Canada flight 27 landed in Honolulu at 10:25pm Dec 31 their time, 3:25am Jan 1 our time. Air Canada flight 33 leaves for Sydney Australia at 11:55pm Dec 31 their time, 4:55am Jan 1 our time. Due to the crossing of the international date line, it will reach its destination at 7:15am Jan 2 their time, not sure when our time. I guess I can go check that out before heading back to bed…

Ally McBeal

Just saw an old episode of Ally McBeal on WTN. I miss that show. I have to get my hands on the DVDs if they exist… I started watching it because of Chantale. Thothmeister kept pushing me to watch it but I never did. Chantale mentioned it once and boom I was hooked. This was when we were only friends. And look at us today 🙂

I checked in with Honolulu. Her flight should land there at around 3:45am our time. 10:35pm their time. No wonder I was so confused.

I’ll try to go to sleep now. I feel like I’m in a daze…

Happy New Year!

Much merry-making was done at my folks tonight. Kids were behaved enough although their sugar consumption level had to be controlled. Still, midnight rolled around with plenty of noise 🙂 Chantale’s parents and sisters even ended up calling me; something that I don’t believe happened before. Ya think they’re worried about me being alone? 🙂

I’ve been trying to get info on the Honolulu and Sydney flights, but the Air Canada website wasn’t too helpful there. oh well. I’m sure I’ll know more when I wake up later.

I hope everyone had a Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. And considering the weather out there, I also hope it was a safe one.

I never believed I could utter these next words, but it is the truth: I had way too much chocolate tonight. oooooh boy.

Ok, the kids are tucked in tightly (if you can believe this, they are STILL in their sleeping bags. 3 nights in a row and the novelty hasn’t worn off 🙂 ) and I guess I should get myself to bed as well. I just don’t like how empty it feels…

Last call for today…

I just got off the phone with Chantale. Her wait at Pearson Airport hasn’t been too bad as she’s chatted with other travellers making their way to Honolulu. She was going to go get her boarding pass now and is expected to get on the plane since it still has open seats. It should leave Pearson at 5:30pm and land at Honolulu at 10:35pm. From there, she’ll have to scramble to make a connecting flight at 11:55pm.

*sigh* It was nice talking with her. Even the kids got to say hello which helped them, too.

One of the last things she said to me was “I’m gonna marry you when I get back, you know!” to which I replied, “you bet you will!” 🙂

…It’s almost time to go downstairs for N.Y.Eve supper with the folks. In the meantime, I’ve been online a lot. Even cleared up my inbox at my home account! That was daunting 🙂 But, as everyone who’s signed up to my Jokers List (send a blank email to jokers_r_us-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to join), or on one of my personal mail list (like my Recipe Exchange list!) knows, I’ve gotten through them 🙂

Well, I guess I’ll shut up now. I’ve got too many entries for today already… 🙂

She Called!!!!

Chantale just called from Toronto! The plane left at 10:30am but had to go through de-icing thus they only landed at 12:45pm. Of course, unloading and all that it took her till now to call. The workers at Pearson being as friendly as they are… she’ll be glad to get out of there 🙂

So now she gets to relax and settle in a bit while she sees if she gets on the 5:30pm flight to Honolulu (which shouldn’t be a problem as there are enough available seats).

The waiting continues…
