Here I Sit…

a smile on my face, watching my new system run through a virus update download.

Leaning back, I’m enjoying the many varied and tasty benefits of “home-made”. On one plate, homemade spicy italian sausage. On another plate, homemade “molenzana” (a kind of fried eggplant). In my glass, homemade red wine. If I had some homemade bread, I’d be flying. But, the bread I have is quite good so no complaints. 🙂

See, I’ve begun to realize another tricky part of my brain. The reasonings behind my regular headaches. I thought I had conquered my stress, but it seems my night-cycle has other ideas. I believe, I have been clenching my teeth at night. This is not as bad as grinding, but it definitely leaves a headache in the mornings.

So, I figured I’d turn to my usual method of de-stressing myself (sex not-withstanding): Vino! 🙂 Yes, old Bacchus and I are sharing some memories and some vintages. Homemade is always the strongest as it is brewed with love and consideration 🙂 If anything should unstress me at this point it’s some fermented moscato grapes 🙂

I have some further thoughts to share, but my system has to be restarted now so my virus protection can be fully installed. More later! 🙂

Blah!

There’s nothing like sitting at your desk trying to stop a nosebleed to put you in a great state of mind. Bleah.

Another meeting in 15 minutes. *sigh*

Yeah, yeah, I know it goes with the “chair”. Just didn’t expect there to be SO many of them!!!!!!

Food.

I’m hungry.

I just had a most delicious homemade-capicollo sandwich. It was SO good that I find myself hungry for more! *sigh*

Food is sometimes a curse 🙂

I’m also a little tired but not too bad considering the time I went to bed. Now that my new system is almost ready for full-time use (I transferred over all my data and apps yesterday and have begun installation and configurations), I should have a more relaxing evening. Perhaps to do nothing more than lie back and read a little, listening to music, with lots of candles around… Hm. I should get some more wine, too… Good thing I’ve got my own “tank” downstairs 🙂

I Just Saw ME! :)

mentioned earlier today that she saw the new Standard Life commercial, and so tonight after Crossing Jordan, I switched to the History Channel to tape China Beach. Standard had been sponsoring that show during the last commercial run so I figured if there was any chance I would see the new one, it would be there. Sure enough, the commercial just ran!! Boy, it’s a LOT faster than the ones which ran from Sept 02 through Dec 02, but it was still a kick to see them!! 🙂

I guess next month I’ll find out if I was chosen for the next round of commercials running March-August 🙂 On Thursday, I’ll get to see the posters created especially for our annual IT meeting at the Delta hotel 🙂 Hopefully I’ll be allowed to take one home! 🙂

Holey Mackarel!!!!

Just for the fun of it, I went online to Air Canada’s website to see how much a one-day trip to Vancouver would cost. Since Chantale changed her flight, she’ll be home the night of the 30th. So, I checked the direct flight from Montreal to Vancouver in the morning of the 30th with a return on a direct flight the night of the 30th. The cost? A whopping $4,011.42 !!!!! It would be cheaper to actually fly to Sydney and spend a week with her there than a one-day trip to BC!!!

Sheesh.

Makes you wish for your own private jet… 🙂

Missing You…

I could stay awake, just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you’re far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Don’t want to close my eyes, I don’t want to fall asleep
Cause I’d miss you baby, and I don’t want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream would never do
I’d still miss you baby, and I don’t want to miss a thing…

Lying close to you, feeling your heart beating
And I’m wondering if you’re dreaming
Wondering if it’s me you’re seeing
And then I kiss your eyes and thank God we’re together
Well I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever

Hey, I don’t want to miss one smile
I don’t want to miss one kiss
I just want to stay with you, right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close, feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment for all the rest of time
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I don’t wanna close my eyes, I don’t wanna fall aseep
Cause I’d miss you baby and I don’t wanna miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream would never do-
I’d still miss you, baby
And I don’t want to miss a thing…..

Busy Day…

I woke up with a massive headache today. Felt as though someone hit me on the back of the head with a 2×4. It faded after a while and I spent several hours clearing out the office. I threw out 3 computers, a couple of modems, and actually have some hand scanners to get rid of. It feels weird to toss them in the can, but what else to do?

I grabbed about 2 boxes of old novels/books/etc and will be bringing them to a second hand shop sometime this week. Heck, I’d even give them away at this point. It cleared up some shelf space to allow me to put up some newer books. Feels good not to have to kick them any more.

I also threw out a ton of paper! My desk hasn’t been this clean in ages. I’m still not completely finished, but I’m getting there. I got my new computer installed and even hooked to the ‘net. Next I’ll be transferring over all the Install programs I have on my laptop in order to configure it properly so that I could use it as my main system. The laptop will continue to exist, but probably just in the sense it was originally intended: a travel or portable system.

I made myself a plate of nachos tonight. Just something I was in the mood for. I still have a headache but I’m figuring it’s just tiredness. I put Armaggedon into the VCR as that’s what I was in the mood for. Another one of those movies that remind me of Chantale 🙂 She’s officially off on her tour now. She was visiting Lake Ohau today. I’ve gotta get the rest of the itinerary off the contiki website so I can follow her progress 🙂

At least I know when she’s coming back, now. Jan 30th, from Vancouver. I’ll be waiting! It’s not that far away now…

Ok, back to the movie. see you later…

It’s Done… TSL is no more…

Well, it’s over. I finished the LOTR book last night. I finished the LOTR movie this morning. I finished the final backup of TSL onto my laptop a little earlier. The complete BBS files are being deleted off the old 386 as I type this. I just tested the BBS on my laptop and it actually responds. So, strangely enough, I can actually activate the BBS to work on my laptop and include various instances of it. Strange. But for now, it’s for my own perusal.

The Savage Land is now silent. Another Golden Age passes the veil of the shadow of man…

Making It.

Lots of stuff in my noggin’ tonight. Been one of those weekends I guess (and yes, I know it’s only Saturday! 🙂 )

Last night’s supper with was a little surreal. We’ve been in Picasso’s when it was full, when it was empty, even during massive and dangerous snow storms. But last night’s emptiness seemed to be deeper than anything I remember and brought with it a strange “calm-before-the-storm” feeling with it. Perhaps it was the discussion as we spoke about friends gone by, people we knew from The Savage Land, from Comicopia, and just in general. Where we were way back when, and where we are today.

I’ve been slowly dismantling The Savage Land as well. Strangely enough, I couldn’t connect it with my laptop in order to swiftly copy it over to a place I can archive it to Zip or diskettes, so I actually am downloading the BBS using Pc Anywhere and my phone lines. At 14.4k baud. Yes, it’s long, but it gives it a sense of completedness. Basically, Savage Land BBS has stopped taking calls from yesterday afternoon. By tomorrow night, the computer itself will fall silent for the first time in almost 12 years. That’s somewhat scary. What is ironic is that this is happening at the same time as I’m finishing up reading The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. Ironic because of the long history of TSL as well as my own on-line BBSing and what worlds like LOTR and D&D meant to me back then. Especially during the early years of FayryLand. If there had to be something to properly mark the true end of an era, trust me, this is it.

Chantale called me again this morning, 2am our time. I appreciate every moment we can connect, especially as her tour officially begins tomorrow and thus for the next two weeks she’ll be busy properly exploring New Zealand. This means that contact will probably stretch out from now. Sure, I’ve got enough to keep me busy, especially with Beavers Winter Camping coming up next weekend, but I’ve been feeling her absence a lot more lately. Really started last night and feeling it tonight again. Not so much because I went to the Wedding Show today, but because I’m home alone and it actually feels like I’m alone now. Definitely gonna be burning a lot of candles tonight.

Ok, I know this entry is getting long (which of course means lack of comments 🙂 ), but I do have another important piece of information to share with everyone. I met up with my buddy today who informed me that we may be getting dual funding for a script I wrote a few years back! He’s now in a position to apply for this funding which means that the Government may give us some funding, and ACTRA might give us some, too. End result? “Bus Stop” (working title), scripted by me about 2-3 years ago (probably longer) to be a short comedy skit using a wide-range of emotions for the main actor while retaining a comedic flavor, might actually end up being made! Of course, as with all things dealing with the Entertainment Industry, schedules are subject to change. (When you consider the script was initially written to be filmed within a month’s time of submission, and years have now gone by, well, that gives you an idea 🙂 )

And there you have it. Later Gator!

I’m Now Registered!

Well, I finally did it. I’ve gotten myself a paid account to LiveJournal. It has been a great place and I’ve appreciated it since I first signed on. And now, while Chantale’s traveling New Zealand, it has kept me sane. As my mother-in-law has stated to me, it’s like an electronic psychiatrist 🙂

Outside of that other bit of news:

I spoke with Chantale again last night. When I got back from my first new Theology Class (Epistles & Revelations — it was strange not having Chantale sitting next to me!) I checked my mail and found some from Chantale. She didn’t seem to be in the best of moods and so… I went online to find the phone number of the Hostel she’s staying at and called them to leave her a message 🙂 I tried reading a bit but was so tired I ended up falling asleep on the futon, the telephone nearby. I figured that if I didn’t hear from her by 11:30pm our time, I would call again.

She called at 11pm and we talked for 40 minutes. She couldn’t believe I had called and I told her it was worth ANY price to hear her voice. Yes, we were mushy but so what? 🙂 It felt like too long since we last talked and we quickly caught up on a bunch of stuff. I told her all the things going on in my brain (which were not always posted on LJ or even sent out in email) and we shared some laughs, too. It was really nice re-connecting and I still can’t believe it’s been over 10 days already. Still another 20 more to go.

Heck, I had gone online last night and scoured all the travel sites I could to see if there were any flights I could take to go meet up with her. Sure enough, there was an Air Canada flight leaving on Jan 24th with a return date on Jan 31st. I would be able to swing that one time-wise…. but… no way could I scrounge up over $3000 … *sigh*

And so, that’s that. I slept rather well and woke up early enough to get in to work earlier than I’ve been getting in all week. I got to talk with my mother-in-law at 7am this morning, too, and told her that Chantale would be calling her tonight.

Work has been busy, but not as bad as yesterday. I hope things NEVER again get as bad as yesterday. Lunchtime is almost here and then I’ve got my Team Meeting. It won’t be too long after that when I can go home! 🙂 I’ve gotta head to Wal-Mart and buy some longjohns for the kids (and probably myself!). Since we’re all going camping next weekend, we were advised to get some in order to stay warm 🙂

, I’ll bring the latest Comicopia for you tonight at Picasso’s. Should be there by 8pm. I’ve got a craving for a nice Bambino pizza. And, of course, coffee. Lots of coffee 🙂

By the way, say “Hello” to Growf 🙂
