Just having a really blah / crappy day…

Spic ‘n Span!

Interesting day today. I got accolades almost the entire time. First, someone tells me what an incredible job I’m doing taking care of their systems. Secondly, someone tells me that they believe I’m top notch and my boss is lucky to have someone like me working for him. Thirdly, someone tells me that I look good (difference of the day is that I’ve got a goatee today). Go figure! πŸ™‚

Walked through the door at 6pm and from that moment on, for the next 90 minutes, I was a cleaning machine! Trash out, vacuum everywhere, end-dust, tilexed the bathroom, and even washed the walls in the kitchen! Yes, I am a man of many talents πŸ™‚

With all that taken care of, and a nice scent of eucalyptus in the air, I decided to run a bubble bath for myself. πŸ™‚ I ran my water and when it was ready, I threw a load of laundry in. And then, hot water and peach bubbles to soothe me πŸ™‚ I love the fact that it’s warm enough in the apartment right now (or I’m just burning off so much steam) that I can walk around without clothes πŸ™‚

All right, now I’ve gotta get me some supper! Housework builds an appetite! πŸ™‚

And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.

And we go on and on and on…

Super Bowl 37 is over, and, as expected, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took it in a massive display of heart and power. Tres cool πŸ™‚

As for me and my day, it’s been a rather weird one. I couldn’t shake off my grogginess and ended up getting a headache that food, caffeine, chocolate, and even tylenol couldn’t get rid of. Non of the vacuuming I expected to do got done and yet somehow the day passed by so quickly I barely noticed it.

I did get to finally watch Carlito’s Way, though. I’ve had it in my collection for months but never got around to it. It was an all right movie but seeing Pacino in a full beard freaked me out a bit. I’ve often been compared to him (for one reason or another) but seeing him in that full beard and comparing that to what I look like in a full beard (which I haven’t had in many years) we could be brothers. πŸ™‚

Well, back to work tomorrow. It’ll be a short but very busy/ hectic week. Oh yeah, and I even begin my Loma 290 course on Wednesday. Another 10 weeks of school on top of my current work load. Should be interesting…

LJ Meetup on Tuesday. Chantale comes home on Thursday, and I’m taking Friday off so we can catch up and spend time together πŸ™‚

The Happy Couple

Yes, I’m having way too much fun with the new Scanner. But, I am controlling myself from going overboard πŸ™‚ However, having put a few new ones on-line, I figured I’d have a link to the (current) best shot of Chantale and I that we had made last year πŸ™‚

Cute Kid :)

Boy I’m groggy this morning. Guess I slept really badly last night. Fell asleep on the futon sometime around 12:30am and then eventually made my way to bed. At 9:00am the church bells woke me up (who knows how long they rang?) and then at 10:00am someone called thinking he was calling the store (there’s a clothing store about 2 blocks from where I live called Aragona Lingerie – no relation). That was 90 minutes ago and I’m still groggy.

Well, I’m gonna head downstairs for lunch as I promised my folks I would last night (mom was a little worried that I had been gone the entire day and they didn’t know where I was πŸ™‚ ). Oh yeah, speaking of mom, they gave me some of my elementary school pictures last week. Oh man, I remember those well πŸ™‚

Just for kicks, here’s my first school picture: Kindergarten. I think I look rather adorable πŸ™‚

More Songs

joked today how there were more and more lyrics appearing in my entries. But then he shrugged and said, “whatever helps you get through it.” I guess that’s what this is all about. Sharing feelings and emotions as much as events. For myself, music has always been a huge part of my life and my expression. As such, I do turn to it quite often (as often as I go about singing in real life. Life, after all, is much more enjoyable with your own soundtrack πŸ™‚ ).

For me tonight, my mind is both on the past and on the future…

YOUR SONG – Ewan McGregor

My gift is my song and this one’s for you
And you can tell everybody that this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it’s done
Hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you’re in the world

I sat on the roof and I kicked off the moss
Well some of the verses well, they…they got me quite cross
But the sun’s been kind while I wrote this song
It’s for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see, I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it’s done
I hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you’re in the world

~COME WHAT MAY~ ~ Ewan MacGregor & Nicole Kidman

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I’ve never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I Love You more and more

Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I Love You, until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will Love You
Until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn’t seem such a waste
It all revolves around you

And there’s no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song,
I’ll be there by your side

Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I Love You, I Love You,
Until the end of time

Oh, come what may, come what may
I will Love You, until my dying day
Oh come what may, come what may
I will Love You, I will Love You

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

Come what may
Come what may
I will Love You
Until my dying day

I’m BACK!

Hiya hiya hiya! πŸ™‚

Just drove back from Ottawa and boy am I tired! As boring as the ride through the 417 to Ottawa is, it’s a lot harsher coming BACK in the dark. Especially with light snow. Especially since there are NO lights on the road so you can’t actually SEE the road. Especially when you have to keep running your wipers to wash the windshield because it keeps getting dirty. As an example, I drove there at about 120 almost the entire way. Got there in about 90 minutes. Coming back, I was going between 80 and 100. Took 2 hours πŸ™‚

I went to the Ottawa Aviation Museum to gaze upon planes of days gone by… Wow. Can’t really describe the feeling of touching vintage planes and those that have been through the various wars. Seeing the plane VC Barker got his Victoria Cross in… seeing the German Fokkers and Meserchmitts… seeing the Spitfires and Mustangs and Lancaster… seeing the last surviving piece of Canada’s Greatest Jet: The Avro Arrow… what a feeling. I partly felt as though I were in a morgue, or church. Silent and respectful. It almost felt wrong to actually speak. I took some photographs of some of the planes which really got to me. I was awe-struck and at times emotional to the point of holding back tears. I won’t try to explain it to anyone.

After walking around for 2 hours, I left to meet up with . He showed me his place and then we headed to Tim Horton’s for supper. I’d been craving one of their French Vanilla coffees ALL day. The only problem is that on the trip down, there are only Dunkin Donuts. No Timmies. And he has one at the CORNER of his street. Sheesh. πŸ™‚ So we went there and a funny thing happened (naturally). I place my order and the woman starts filling it. Another girl comes over and takes a look and then leaves. They both come back at the same time with a large cup of French Vanilla – they had both gone to fill the order! LOL! πŸ™‚ They also laughed about it and the girl left. So, I just told the lady, “No problem, I’ll take them both!”. She says, “Really? Ok!” and hands them to me! Ha! Bonus! πŸ™‚ I had a coffee with my meal and then, after a trip through ‘s local comics shop, I had a coffee for my drive home πŸ™‚

Now I’m just gonna relax for a bit. Trading Spaces is on so I’ll probably give it a view while lying on the futon πŸ™‚ I’ll check back in later!!

Sweet Dreams are made of these…

I spoke with Chantale again this morning at 1am. She’s spent her entire day walking all around Sydney. She totally loves it there πŸ™‚ Even said she’d be willing to move the entire family πŸ™‚

*sigh* She’s almost home. One day closer. Last night/ this a.m. was probably the last time I’ll be speaking with her until she gets back though. She’s got a very hectic agenda for the next couple of days. Basically one tour after the other in an effort to see as much of the city as she can. I told her not to worry and that WE will go back together to catch anything she misses πŸ™‚

I was quite brain-weary last night. Speaking with her did lift up my spirits, though. I think I’ll be able to better enjoy my weekend now…

Varia Non-Sundry

…I had the strangest experience earlier. James called me so I could watch YTV Hit List with him πŸ™‚ So there we were, talking about Hit Videos and whatnot while both of us had the television on YTV. Strange. Cute, but strange πŸ™‚ …

…Chantale called her folks. Sydney is beautiful and she’s got a full itinerary. Tomorrow is Australia Day there, but, due to the recent fire outbreaks, the fireworks were cancelled. Bummer for her, but, it gives US something else to look forward to doing in the future πŸ™‚ …

…So the Zip drive is installed, configured, and tested. I ran through a backup of my Word Processing Documents. Next I’ll make a few backups of other important stuff (like my Pegaus Mail!!!) …

…My new HP Scanjet is installed, configured, tested, and working! πŸ™‚ I scanned a couple of pictures to send to Chantale but they didn’t go through properly. So, I put them up on my web site without links and gave her the URL instead πŸ™‚ Let’s see if I can load one in this journal…

Drops of Jupiter

Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there’s time to change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey

Tell me did you sail across the sun
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated

Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there

Now that she’s back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
Reminds me that there’s time to grow, hey, hey

Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
I’m afraid that she might think of me as plain ol’ Jane
Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind
Was it everything you wanted to find
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there

Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you’re wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had . . . and me

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back toward the Milky Way
