Yoinked from Lu!
Ah, the things that amuse my tired mind… 🙂
So here we are at the hospital waiting to see a new doctor while Chantale’s doc is on vacation this month. Everything was going fine (having her actually BE here instead of 45 minutes late like Chantale’s regular doc is a great start!). I found parking relatively quickly and when I got here she had already been processed! All that was left was to see the doc and we were next – 20 minutes early. And then she comes to see us in the hallway and tells us that she has to run for an emergency ceserean and would be back in an hour! Wow. At least she was kind enough to tell us, but wow… And so we wait…
I’m ready to go home. Before I do, however, I figured I would send out a quick BB test post. It’s a cute gizmo, but also a lot of workm. Sheesh.
Edited to fix formatting. Basically, I wanted to see if it would work. And it did! 🙂
Sitting in bed watching Sex in the City volume 2 🙂 I told Chantale how I wanted to post today but just couldn’t make the time. Way too busy at work. And now, I’m too tired to write up a proper post. And thus, lj sound bites!
Okay, I’ll just end here. 🙂
Chantale and I are still in bed, with both James and Melyssa (and Casey) watching -along with the 5.5 billion other folks- Live8. I’m a sucker for these kinds of concerts and enjoy sharing both the music and the message with the kids. I knew CTV was going to be televising the Barrie concert, but I didn’t think the station would be playing all day long from everywhere else as well.
Having the television feeding through Chantale’s stereo system makes the music that much more fun 🙂
We hadn’t really planned to be spending so much time in front of the tube, but after yesterday’s very exhausting day of heat, working outside and inside, plus battling the storm, and Chantale’s what-felt-like-all-night contractions (just before midnight, she finally decided it was time to go take a walk outside to see if it would help! it did!), it’s a good opportunity to rest. The baby seems to be in a good mood (except when the Bass is too loud 🙂 ) and Chantale finally has some relief from her back. The swelling of her hands has actually gone down after two days of barely being able to make a fist! I think these next 3 weeks are going to be the toughest. At least the weather change makes it a bit more bearable.
I was in a super mood last night. Coming home from work, I was just full of energy and in that total good mood we all had a wonderful supper. I ran out afterwards to pick up the commode for the baby’s room and can’t wait to put it together! I’m basically planning on doing it as soon as I walk into the house tonight! 🙂 When I got back from Toys R US, however, I had to take care of Melyssa’s little lice problem. Seems she was shipped over to us requiring a follow-up treatment since her previous treatment of two weeks ago didn’t fully take and they had to do it again last week. Could have easily been taken care of with the proper precautions, but, alas, such is life in the M&C T.U. (Mike & Chantage Triage Unit – where we “patch ’em up, and ship ’em out, and wait for them to return”)
That didn’t diminish my mood, though. I went to bed still full of energy! This, unfortunately, meant that come 1:30am, I was still awake. And the hours clicked on with visions of upcoming work and meetings. End result? It’s just after 2pm and I’m brain-fried. In a fog. In a daze. However way you want to put it, I is. 🙂 The crazy fact is that so is everyone else around here! Things have been going nuts and the team is really putting in a huge amount of time and effort into stabilizing stuff. I think we’re all hoping for a weekend to be able to regain some energy…
One strange thing is that even tired, I’ve actually stayed awake on my train rides! This all possibly due to the Artemis Fowl books I’m devouring! 🙂 (LU! I can’t believe I forgot the money in my pocket when we came over last weekend! Any other/ easier way to get it to you? Mail? Paypal? Interac transfer?)
And now, another meeting beckons…
got crossed somewhere, unfortunately. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon
enough. In the meantime, I figured I’d do a secondary test with the email
posting 🙂 It’s a shame that the formatting isn’t up to par, but beggars
can’t be choosers.
I will state that I am tired. I feel a headache creeping on and should
resolve to take care of that. My mother-in-law’s birthday today so we’re
heading out for supper – kids included. Considering I know how hot it is
out there and how much Chantale and the kids are suffering at home, it’ll
be heaven to get into an A/C restaurant 🙂
On another note, I managed to get through my first month of SVP reporting.
As well as review/update other LOB priorities. My next big tackle for
tomorrow will be MS Project. Oh joy.
I remember setting up the email-posting feature on my LJ, but never took
further advantage of it in all that time.
I figured that what with stuff going on, it might be good to verify it.
And thus, this should be test 1 of 2. Second to come sometime this week.
In the meantime… ever have one of those 5-10 minute meetings with
someone which then left you low, unsure of your abilities, and a trifle
angry at the same time? Yeah, me too…

I just found out about Paul Winchel/Tigger passing away… and when I went to find more news on it, I read that Piglet has also passed away! 🙁
