The New Floodgates of the Mind

So I found out this morning that if you write a post-dated cheque and that person or entity cashes it prior to the date, it’s too bad for you. Seriously. I called my rep this morning and told her how freaked I was that the Gov’ment cashed my April 14th cheque on March 15th and got away with it – putting ME into overdraft. I told her I expected the bank to NOT charge me for the overdraft and that’s when she told me that a Bank is not responsible for post-dated cheques and that although something like that can be caught when it’s brought to a teller, it’s mostly automated for corporations/ etc. So, it’s up to YOU to be careful who you give a P.D.C. to. Lovely. She’ll reverse any charge I incur, of course, because she doesn’t want to incur my wrath, but it’s quite a kick in the head.

Bah.

At any rate, since with midnight came payday, the situation’s okay for the next two weeks. I can go buy groceries now 🙂 Strangely enough, I’m all out of Kilkennys…

Okay, so my main portal site has been lagging for quite a while now. This was especially apparent as I slowly revamped the sub sections as each was given its own domain (starting with Comicopia followed afterwards by my Writing site, the Scarlet Rose Productions site, and my Parenting page).

Last night I finally put that old crappy portal to rest and gave it a revamped look. Yes, some content still needs to be modified but that’s a lot easier than finding the time to fiddle with code 🙂 Finally, Savageland.com is worth looking at. And that’s way about time…

Next up is to tweak those convention pages and actually add a few of the older ones…

It’s amazing to see how much Kyle’s brain is developing. That big smile of his just adds another dimension of sparkle to his eyes that makes it so easy to love him 🙂 For the last while now, he’s been grabbing my hands when we’re playing on the floor just so he can pull himself up to a standing position. Yeah, he seems ready to GO. And, as Chantale recounted in her lj, Tuesday night when I got home, he decided he wasn’t going to be immobile any more and started crawling around looking very much like SpiderMan. Yes, it sounds silly, but you had to see this little guy simply smacking his hands on the floor and slide/ dragging himself. He isn’t crawling in the “traditional” sense (hands and knees) but is instead slithering around. And yes, it looks like Spidey only horizontal 🙂 Thus, I’ve taken to calling him SpiderBaby since 🙂

Well, yesterday, he decided the standing and the slithering wasn’t enough. Now, he’s calling for his Mother in an almost sing-song voice. “Mama… mama…” and what a sweet and gentle sound it is (at least for now 🙂 ). It is truly unbelievable how little moments like that can melt away all the brain garbage piled up to overflowing and the opression of a north american working existence. Sitting or lying on the floor playing with my son and whatever gets in front of him (shoes, socks, toys, remotes, dog) is quite the laugh and joy therapy. By the time I get to bed, I barely can remember what had been troubling me. It’s such a wonderful feeling…

I realize how long it’s been since I posted. I just don’t feel like talking. The physical ballot should be in your local comics shops this week as I delivered the packages to Quebecor last Monday (Feb 27th).
