Hmmm….

We make all of our suns the same
Every one will suffer the fire we’ve made
They all explode just the same
And there’s no going back on the plans we’ve made

Peacekeeper take your time
Wait for the dark of night
Soon all the suns will rise
Peacekeeper don’t tell why
Don’t be afraid to fight
Love is the sweet surprise

Only creatures who are on their way
Ever poison their own well
But we still have time to hate
And there’s still something we can sell

Chorus

When the night is cold and still
When you thought you’d had your fill
Take all the time you will
This is not a test, it’s not a drill
Take no prisoners, only kill

You know all of our friends are gods
And they all tell us how to paint our face
But there’s only one brush we need
It’s the one that never leaves a trace

Chorus

When the night is cold and still
When you thought you’d had your fill
This is not a test, it’s not a drill
Take no prisoners, only kill

Just Chillin’

Howdy.

I’m taking a little bit of a break. I’m waiting for my turn at the Casting/ Audition for the next Standard Life commercials (filming in June) and decided to relax a little. I wanted to study my LOMA 290 for a bit but I’m finding myself very tired today. I slept really well for the first time in a few days now, but not enough to get over the “hump” of fatigue from the weekend. I’ll be taking Friday off as a Moving Day in order to properly tackle all the boxes and begin making a dent in them.

So, I made myself a coffee since I don’t have any change to buy one and will probably continue working through ‘s Beatles Manuscript. I can’t wait to hold this baby in hardcover when the time comes (and circumstances clear up, of course!)

That’s the news for now. I’m just tired…

Edit Update: Oops. I meant ‘s Beatles Manuscript. ajporter is the same person in a different electronic universe 🙂

Kreme and Fields

you left Montreal too soon. Krispy Kreme is opening up another shop here 🙂 Very close to where I used to live! It’s actually across the street from Rockland Center 🙂

, just in case you were interested, KK is also hiring. You have to love a place that states “one dozen free doughnuts per week” as one of their incentives 🙂 They pay $8/hour with a raise after 3 months, flex hours, shifts, etc. Apply in person at 600 Auguste Street (Taschereau Blvd in Greefield Park) on Friday and Saturday.

=================

Tried out a silly quiz today. It seems that the song which best represents how I feel about life is “Dear God” and the song which best tells most about my mind is “Soak up the Sun”. Interesting.

Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see
It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out
It doesn’t matter much to me
Let me take you down ’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields Forever…

Lots ‘n Lots!!

Weekend Update:

I survived.

(yeah, yeah, I know: “obviously!”) 🙂

Friday after work I ran around like a madman getting “things” ready. I ran around the Faubourg getting fresh Brie and a fresh baguette. I ran to Benix and bought 2 new wine glasses and a corkscrew. Then I drove to the SAQ to pick up a special bottle of Beringer’s Founders Estate Chardonnary 2000 🙂 (took me some time to track down a store that actually had any in stock, and it turned out to be much further than I expected!!). Afterwards, I put everything in the trunk and went to pick up Chantale. We drove to the Notary and got there a little early. Chantale was hungry and suggested getting a quick bite. I told her I’d rather get through with the Notary so we could go to the house quicker! 🙂

That was exactly what we did. We went in, read through all the documents, signed TOO many times to remember (my original guess was 15, Chantale said 22. we have no recollection of the actual number 🙂 ) and then after sharing a huge hug and kiss in the parking lot, we got in the car and zoomed to the house. 🙂 I had her unlock the front door and we stepped inside. I closed the door, scooped her into my arms, and carried her across the living room and into the kitchen/ dining room 🙂 Obviously, we were ecstatic!

We started to look around and I managed to sneak out of the house, get the stuff in the car (including a blanket) and had the dining room all spread out before she came downstairs 🙂 Yes, quite the romantic sight 🙂 We toasted and enjoyed the baguette and brie, laughing and talking the entire time. It was truly wonderful 🙂

Saturday:

After having gone to bed very late in order to get more last-minute packing done, we were up at 6am in order to get a run into the house. Chantale drove me to UHaul and then went to unload the car. I drove to the apartment and soon after proceeded to pack up the truck with the help of my father-in-law and good friend. The three of us managed to load that sucker up in no time! 🙂 Since we were on a deadline, we had to leave at 11am. We headed to Chantale’s parents place to pick up her old bed and commode and then went off to the house. As we left from there, my mom called to tell me the movers had finally arrived at the apartment.

We got to the house in one piece and unloaded the truck. A quick bite later and we headed off to return the truck. From there, we drove back to the apartment and managed to grab some more stuff for the 2 cars and, after grabbing another small bite to eat, headed back to the house. Once there, we finished unloading, started putting stuff up, but then at 6pm Chantale and I headed off back to my parents.

My sister-in-law gave birth to a baby girl on Friday night!! Welcome Alexia Aragona to the world!!! 🙂 My baby brother is now a father. How bizarre is that 🙂

So, the four of us headed to the hospital to see our new family member and it was a wonderful moment 🙂 That night, I think we all slept soundly for the first time in weeks 🙂

Sunday:

I had to get up early and spend some time prettying myself up 🙂 Shower, shave, and into the suit I went as I headed BACK to my parents to pick them up and drive them to the church for James’ 1st Communion. It was a nice ceremony and James was really nervous but really happy, too 🙂 After I drove my parents home, I picked up some more of our food and went back to the house where we spent the next couple of hours cleaning up and setting things up. It’s been quite an experience. Heck, we were so exhausted last night that we went to bed at 9:30pm!!!

This morning:

Up at 6am and out the door at 7am for our first drive into work from Ile Perrot 🙂 We were both exhausted but got downtown at a decent hour. So, Chantale and I headed out to Tim Horton’s for a French Vanilla expresso. Mmm. Mm. Good!! 🙂

Now:

I’m tired and a little sore. I want to go home but have to head back to my parents first in order to pick up my summer tires. Afterwards, I head to Lombardi Honda to drop off the car so they can work on it tomorrow. Of course, this means that tomorrow night I have to head back to the east end to pick up the car. sheesh. Ah well. Always look on the positive and good side of life and things will continue to be that way 🙂

Saludos Amigos!

CRAZY-ASS WEEKEND!!!!!

I’m flipping out today!

We’re signing at the Notary’s at 4pm today! We’ve got a UHaul ready tomorrow at 7:30am and the movers (for the big stuff!) are coming at 2pm. Bell is hooking up our phones at about the same time. My brother’s wife has been induced today so the baby should come out over the course of the day! Yup, I’ll be Unca Mike as of today! And today also happens to be the anniversary of the passing of my grandfather (for whom I’m named)! And on top of all that, James will have his 1st communion on Sunday!!!!

I’m not even gonna tell you what’s going on next week because this is already way too much!!!

HOLEY MOLEY!!!!! 🙂

So, I’m offline now! Might only see me again on Monday if I make it into work!!!! 🙂

is this on….

Hello! Remember me? 🙂 I feel like I’ve disappeared! What with everything going on and all the stuff I have to do… it’s insane!!

I won’t give you all the gory details (of which there are many) but maybe I’ll upload something I wrote about it for Comicopia some day 🙂 Maybe next issue when I write the sequel! Because, there is a sequel you see. I won’t spoil the story, but I will tell you the ending to it:

We’re getting the house. 🙂

We’re going to the Notary on Friday to sign it and get the keys. We are moving in on SATURDAY.

Can you freaking believe it?!!!

My brain feels like it’s going to implode and then explode (and boy that sounds familiar!). But, it’s all going to happen. What an ordeal. What a crazy, crazy period of time. Wow. I never thought I could EVER get into so MUCH debt. Life always has a way of surprising you … 🙂

Oh yeah. I got the $$$ amounts I have to dish out on Friday. Yowtch. Really. Yowtch!! I don’t even MAKE that much money!! Aye Caramba.

I’m gonna go pass out now 🙂

Interesting….

Hmmm….

studying my LOMA 290 and came across these stats:

The 1980 CSO (Commissioners 1980 Standard Ordinary) Table indicates that the Mortality Rate for Males aged 35 is 2.11 per 1000. For Women, it’s 1.65 per 1000.

Hopped online to get the latest figures and found that in 2001 the numbers for Men aged 35 was set at 1.21 and Women at 0.97 !!

More proof that we’re living longer! 🙂

ok, carry on now…

Heh.

Beatles seem to be everywhere in my life lately.

Even the monthly in-house magazine “Standard” has the Beatles on its cover this month 🙂

So, I tried another quiz, and although the questions were a little bizarre, it turns out that I’m “Let it Be” 🙂

Ouch :(

My first moving-related injury. Stupid me decided to move some boxes from the apartment to my parents garage in order to make some space in the apartment. Sounds sensible enough except for the fact that I did not warm up prior to executing this little exercise.

So, of course, my back hurts. A lot. Blah.

Stupid me.
