I’ve been up since 4am. Don’t ask me how I’m feeling or I’ll just have to kick you.
Our Xmas decorations are all up. This weekend, I finally got out that long ladder I borrowed from my father in law and climbed up to the roof to hang the white icicle lights. Very nice effect. I suddenly thought quite highly of how pretty it all looks at night.
Our tree this year is the artificial one we use whenever I get James and Melyssa for New Year’s. (on the year’s they’re with me for Xmas, we always get a real tree). However, this little blue spruce (heh. little is relative. it used to be quite large in our old apartment. it’s little in this house, especially in comparison to the 7 foot tree I got last year… ;)) is beautiful. Chantale put a lot of work into making things look great and we all helped out. We absolutely love it and the very personal decorations/ ornaments we hang.
Kyle has been extremely good with the tree and ornaments! Considering it’s the first year he’s able to fully appreciate them, he has mostly kept his hands to himself. But he loves going around the tree and pointing to the ornaments he loves the best (Frosty, Bert, Ernie, The Count, Winnie, etc). This morning, he was circling the tree as he often does with his hand out (think of someone trying to feed a wild animal or something – palm out) and saying “Itsaball” “Itsaball!” as he walked by each ball at his height. This came from? Him pointing and saying “Ball!” and having Chantale or I say to him, “Yes, sweetie, it’s a ball”. How incredibly sweet and adorable is that? 🙂
Another cute thing? Whenever he wants us to light up the tree, he’ll say “C’est beau!” so we can turn on the lights and go “Ahhh!” 🙂
