Yup, Hump Day. Supposedly after getting through today, the rest of the week will be a breeze. Well, considering this week could be classified as HellWeek(insert digit), that would be a good thing.

2 out of 3 meetings cancelled today, and the remaining one is only 30 minutes. Much better. Gotta get out of this funk so I can be productive again. Maybe a haircut will help. Should get my ass in gear and setup another appointment. I’m feeling a little too shaggy.

Thoughts battling to come out. We’ll see who the winner is later.

i’m torn between wanting to update this journal every day and sometimes 3-4 times a day…

and just deleting the damned thing and going completely offline.

Incredible how fast a week goes. I’m still alive and kicking (albeit fighting a small cold which centered itself in my throat. Don’t want to bother with a doc as I really do NOT want antibiotics. Thus, home remedies. Feeling better today, that’s for sure 🙂 ) Not the reason I was offline, though. That had to do with Wednesday being Melyssa’s 7th birthday 🙂 Lots of fun and she totally flipped with the Guitar we got her 🙂

Anyhow, just dropping in for a quick post in order to link up a couple of pics from my Parenting page on my web site 🙂

Had quite the interesting email come into my box today. Totally unexpected but based on their professionalism it had to be expected. Still, it sure made my eyes grow wide in happy shock 🙂

This won’t mean anything to anyone not familiar with comics, but the email was from none other than Roy Thomas, editor of Alter Ego. Issue 36 will have features on Canada’s Golden-Age Superheroes, and something minor was required from me. I, of course, quickly gave it, and so he’ll be sending me a copy of the issue when it ships.

Nice. Very nice. 🙂

Been up for the last hour already. What can I say? When I wake up, it’s hard for me to fall back to sleep. Kids made me breakfast in bed this morning. How sweet is that? 🙂

Right now, I’m sipping on some incredible Bavarian Chocolate Coffee while James works on his book report… Wow. Who knew I had such incredibly tasty coffee hiding with the rest of my coffee “collection”? 🙂

Rainy day today. Kids and I are gonna spend it indoors again. A few more relaxing things to do (after I take a nice long relaxing bath… :> )

All done for tonight! I’m home and even managed to get through my workout! I’m ready for bed, except… I’m suddenly famished! I want fooooood!!! ack. What a time for a hunger attack…

Well, I know I shouldn’t eat right before going to bed. So, instead, I’ll go set up the coffee machine so Chantale is greeted by an automatic brew when she gets up for work… I’m not sure I’d be able to get up with her at this point… 🙁

I just realized something! I drove off to work as soon as I was able to tonight, without having had the opportunity to work out beforehand! Ack! I will not let my 13 straight nights be in vain! Thus, I will have to work out when I get home, regardless of the time!! …. oooh boy… maybe it’s time for coffee #3…

Happily, though it’s almost 1am, it looks good that I might be able to leave by 2:30am at the very latest. Considering I was expecting 4am, this is good news indeed.

Hm. 12:30am Tuesday March 2nd. Funny. In all the years I’ve been working at Standard Life, I never expected to be here at this time. Granted, back at DPM, working past midnight on the last night of RRSP season was a complete given. We had that much business to process and everyone was involved in getting those orders filled. However, when I came here, the distinction between I&T and the actual Mutual Fund business was quickly clarified. Regardless of how much work they had, I&T was not required to stick around. Of course, being the kind of guy I am, I always ensured I was reachable and checked in on them throughout the night.

Tonight, however, I’m here for other reasons. One of the things about moving up in a company is basically a broadening of scope. Thus, even though this was supposed to be my vacation week, I’m here because the Corporation needs some numbers I can mainly provide. Yes, if I wasn’t around there would have been a way to get the information out, although not in the same manner or as quickly. But, I know how important this stuff is, and so I’m here doing my part. And you know what? I don’t feel like a sucker at all for doing this or caring this much. It’s just the type of person I am.

So, back to it. One part is done, but I still have a few more items to finish off before I can call it a night.
