I must admit – I rarely keep an eye on the upcoming news releases/ etc. I don’t have the time to read everything out there so I stick with the things I know and the creators I know. I pretty much buy everything from the folks I know in an effort to contribute to getting the word out. (I won’t tell you how many copies and versions I have of Wahoo Morris for example 🙂 )
Thus, I’m often surprised by news items about very-soon-released material, but I like that kind of excitement better than the waiting around for months. I turn to this recent item on ‘9/11 Report’ In Comics about Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon’s upcoming book (softcover and hardcover) entitled The 9/11 Report: A Graphic Adaptation due out at the end of the month.
I especially liked the following: ”There are going to be a whole bunch of kids, teen-agers and adults that will not read the report,” Colon said, adding that comics might offer an alternative. ”The educational system at large has resisted them, I think, because of the term `comic book.’ I like to think of them as something that has more purpose.”
Yup. It’s already on my order list at Amazon.
