Far Away…

Living Energy

As I lay me down to sleep, I look at the ceiling and think back deep
of all the things I did today, which went awry which went my way?
I curse the fact of daily needs, that cuts my spirit so my soul bleeds
So much time spent on what’s not true, so much time wasted on what my heart couldn’t do
And when my living day is done, I know I’ll smile on what was fun
And for the crap that sapped my strength, I’ll bury it deep where it was meant
Let go the bad and step forth to dreaming, revisit the joys that give life meaning
Let the body float, let the mind recharge, down the river of souls, on a golden barge
When the new day dawns and to meet it we rise, let us do it with a new set of eyes
And let us hope, when that time comes, that all our dreams will be more than crumbs
Where we can stand, proud and tall, to live our dreams and never fall…
