Paradise Comics Comic Convention

If you’re ready for it, here’s the breakdown of the guests attending the Paradise Comics Toronto Comicon this year. Lots of new faces to meet (some, like Warren Ellis, I never expected to meet for at least a long time). It’s a big list, and I’m just going to blurt them all out now. Some of these aren’t on the website but they have been confirmed:

Alvin Schwartz (Writer, Golden Age & Early Silver Age Comics (1939-1958) including Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Slam Bradley, Vigilante, Date with Judy, Buzzy, House of Mystery, Tomahawk, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Newsboy Legion, and Captain Marvel (Fawcett). Mr. Schwartz also wrote most of the Batman and Superman newspaper strips published between 1944 and 1952. Mr. Schwartz is the creator of Bizarro, and had his last Bizarro story published in 2001’s Bizarro Comics GN)

Jerry Robinson (Artist, golden age Batman and Detective Comics, Honoured newspaper strip cartoonist. President & Editorial Director of the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate) Mr. Robinson is a guest of the Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards Committee and will be a presenter at the 1st Shuster Awards Ceremony as well as a convention guest. Mr. Robinson, aside from being a friend of Joe Shuster’s, was integral to the process of Siegel and Shuster’s being re-recognized and compensated as the creators of Superman in the mid-1970’s.
