Meow.

I’m tired. Actually, my eyes are a little bleary right now because of the fatigue and just everything involved in a long, drawn-out week. But, lots of good as well!

Kyle, who started walking last Saturday, has gotten a lot more steady on his feet with each passing day. He’s such a little blast and I love spending time with him. It bites that by the time I get home from work until the time I put him down to bed is only about 2 hours, but they are quite happy and cuddly/ fun hours πŸ™‚ He just makes me melt every time he smiles πŸ™‚ He went for his second day of home-daycare today and had a really great day. This has been a point of worry but I’m very glad he’s taken in with the lady who watches him. She’s actually the wife of one of my friends at work which gives us an extra sense of security in the whole matter. And, like I said, we’re both so happy that he’s enjoying his time there. One day last week, one day this week, two days next week, and then full time. Why…

…because my lovely wife got herself a contract with Pratt & Whitney! Finally, years after her initial stage with them, she was able to go back! She’s been wanting to for years and they’ve been after her the entire time she’s been on maternity. Now, everything’s in place and the conditions are right (heck, they’re excellent!) so she begins next thursday. Awesome indeed. I’m so proud of her for sticking to her guns and not going for any jobs that were below her. We had the leisure to wait for the right position, and we’re glad we did. Yes, it’s a short contract, but as anyone who knows anything about the business, all it takes are a few of these to help pay the bills and get the word out. πŸ™‚

To help celebrate tonight, I got supper ready for when she got back from her other job tonight. Thus, chicken wellington, ceasar salad, long grain wild rice… and a bottle of Casal Mendes rosΓ© that went down so nicely… πŸ™‚ She’s napping on the couch upstairs while I came down here to check mail and post this up πŸ™‚ Nothing like a wonderful supper to lull a body into a very relaxed and happy state πŸ™‚

Other news/ thoughts (in list form because my brain is fuzzy):

  • I forgot to mention this a few weeks ago but Moggy reminded me tonight. My cousin, who’d garnered himself a small following with the Philadelphia Phillies (lookup “Sal’s Pals” for info) was traded to the New York Yankees recently. How awesome is that?? πŸ™‚
  • Comicopia deadline for issue 96 is next Wednesday. Whoops! Gotta get on the horn to the members for whom I’m awaiting contributions! Also have to get the cover printed up (and been seriously thinking about getting a t-shirt made up for it – you’ll understand why when you see it πŸ™‚ )
  • My recent client got me his latest book and I’ve got a decent estimate on how long it’ll take me to get through it. This will definitely help pay the bills… Now I just have to get off my ass and get to it.
  • Realized that the 3-day novel challenge is two weeks away… and I’m once more unsure as to if I’ll be able to do it. Will have to verify my schedule and family planning…
  • I don’t think I’ll go through with NaNoWriMo this year. Many reasons for this. Again, as with last year, I’ll leave the final decision to Halloween…
  • Things are moving slowly but steadily with that secret writing project. I’m actually a little glad for the short delay as I really want to be a part of this. Actually, the story ideas are still rummaging around my brain so it’ll help clear things up for when we’re ready to begin πŸ™‚
  • Damn. I just remembered there was another script waiting for me to review… I need to get to this one this weekend. Rats. I hate when that happens… Sometimes I need a reminder myself! ack!

Okay, enough. I need to get to bed. Chantale’s working all day tomorrow so Kyle and I will be hanging out getting stuff done πŸ™‚ Maybe I’ll have a chance to work on that script while he’s napping… we’ll see.
