Protests and Updates

Had to detour my walk to work this morning as I got off the Train since due to the protestors demonstrating against the WTO meeting at the Sheraton. The cops had blocked off quite a large section of downtown and were in the process or asking them to disperse. I’ve seen a lot of cops around town before, as well as a number of demonstrators. This, however, had to be the biggest one so far for me. Police, Riot Gear, Military Personnel. Sheesh.

Shows how much I follow politics, I don’t even know what the protest is against the WTO. Passed about a dozen camera news crews but they were all quite busy, obviously 🙂

We started mowing our lawn yesterday! It is SO long and there is SO much of it… that after 3 hours we’ve only gotten through half, while having filled 4.5 garbage bags already. Yow. Still, it looks great so there’s a definite sense of accomplishment 🙂

Of course, all this will make it easier and more fun when we fire up …. the new BBQ!! 🙂 At Chantale’s shower this weekend, everyone had pitched together to get us a new BBQ plus propane tank plus tools!! 🙂 Very nice indeed, and quite touching. Totally unexpected but very much appreciated. We even managed to put it together that same night. Lots of screws but, again, a sense of accomplishment when done. Heck, everyone at church was quite impressed with that bit of news yesterday as the commentaries came out about some of them still waiting on husbands to put them together, or taking so long, or even paying someone to do it! 🙂 Chantale and I work well together, what can I say? 🙂

Kids are with us this week and it began with dropping them off at the D.D.O. Day Camp 🙂 It’ll be a bit more difficult for Chantale this week as she is the designated driver. Meaning, we have to get up early to get them ready, hop in the car to drive to D.D.O. to drop them off, drive to the train to drop ME off, and then she heads off to work. Gotta get her some coffee cash 🙂 Tonight, she goes to pick them up while I take the train to St. Anne’s and begin walking home. They’ll pick me up on their way home somewhere along the road 🙂

Ok, gotta get cracking. It’s going to be a very busy day made up of a lot of high-level meetings I need to prepare for. So, gotta get my material revised and reviewed.
