2009

I was initially going to start the post by saying “What? It’s already 2009?” but the truth is I’ve been doing so much planning for 2009 for the last couple of months that when that ball dropped on Dec 31st I was a little confused as to why the year wasn’t 2010…

At any rate, welcome to 2009! Here’s to it being a bit better than just Two Thousand and Fine 😉 I won’t be posting any resolutions so don’t come looking for any. I don’t particularly believe in them anyway as my motto is to simply live life as positively as you can. If you’re aware of something that needs “fixing” then do so! My main obstacle recently has been debt consolidation. But, I must say that I’m off to a good start I’ll just chip away at it a bit at a time and rejoice with every grand gone. In these times with everything costing so much more, it’s the least I can do. But, I set a plan in motion and will stick to it.

So, today was back to regular 5 days a week work… and of course it was tough to get up! It’s not like I was sleeping an enormous amount these last 2 weeks, but it still felt great to sleep in past 430am 🙂 Yes, I try to get to bed earlier, but that’s one plan I have a hard time following 🙂

New Year’s was nice. As I mentioned before, we headed to my sister’s place for supper and then (after swinging back by the house to get the dog) we went to my in-laws to ring in the year and spend the night. Although I had to take a number of breaks to go check in with how things were progressing at work, it was still a very enjoyable evening. And spending the entire morning and afternoon of Jan 1st lounging around in PJs, watching movies and napping was just great 🙂 I actually ended up getting an iPod Nano (love the name!) from them which means I’ve now got a much better-sounding MP3 system with 8x the song capabilities than my previous player, so I will enjoy my commutes a lot more! 🙂

With Chantale’s iTouch and my iPod Nano, this also meant and means that we’ve been copying my rather large collection of CDs to our iTunes library. I think as of last night there were 274 albums completed (and still more to come). This reminds me that I need to make a backup stat! 🙂

What can I say about the weekend except that it was busy but very nice – with a great Turkey family supper on Saturday night 🙂 I will admit, however, that I could have easily used another week’s vacation… 🙂
